Hi
Great...I can't make India shape! This recipe takes practise, so please be patience and try every single day. If it doesn't still get into shape then roll and cut with something round. I use big plastic round box to cut my rice and corn rotis. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Hi
If you don't add oil, then it will definitely get papad or will be very chewy. For 1 cup of wheat flour, add 2-3 tbsp of oil and nead very soft dough and keep about 10-15 mins covoered on counter. Now dough is so soft so you will have to dust with flours to roll it. Rest you can follow the video. And it also depend on flour as well. Hope this helps.

Hi Bhavana,

Thanks for this receipe.
Do we have to keep rack on flame continuously( normal burner gas)?
i put tawa on 1 burner and rack on the other one.. but my roti sticks to rack .
I light burner for rack every time i put roti on it. do i have to put burner on low flam so that rack get heated properly? how i can avoid rotis sticking?
Also i would like to know the diff between chapati flour and wheat flour.
i use wheat flour to make rotis.

Thanks

Hi
Chapati flour is wheat flour. So it doesn't matter whether you use chapati flour or wheat flour. It is the same thing. Now, the way I make my rotis, if you watch even video again, you will get idea. I keep tava on the rack all the time. Keep temprature on medium when you bake roti on tava and when it's time to rise roti on rack, take the tava off of rack and bring roti from tava to rack, keep high heat at this time so that your roti rise . So basically only one stove is used.
