that smoothie looks delicious! But what about food combining? Aren’t fruits to be eaten alone?
You can blend fruits with greens. That’s a great food combo. See Victoria Boutenko’s book, Green for Life.
To your radiant health!

I live in Edmonds,WA and kale is everywhere.Look in Safeway,Fred Meyer,Albertsons, they all have organic produce sections too.I even bought kale at Grocery Outlet.
Don’t forget, this is only a part of your daily food intake. You do not have to add any oils or fats to a green smoothie especially if you want to lose weight. But if you absolutely must, you could add a few drops of coconut oil or flax oil or grind up a half a cup of organic flax seeds and add that to the smoothie.
Wow. A fellow Washingtonian (lol… sorry).
I’m in S. Everett, and I’ve been to a couple Safeways in the area and I didn’t see Kale (Mill Creek Safeway and 76th St, S. Everett). I’ll try a couple other store. I really appreciate it though. I actually gave up, assuming they didn’t have it in our area!
Looks great. Is there any reason to break the banana and the kale? I thought that was the point of the blender. Just wondering.
LOL
Geez, you folks have great Organic Food Coops. Big box shopping only sucks your money up into an economic strata where you never see it again. Where from small Ma’n Pa stores, or from coops, your money would circulate back around to you, relatively, as it’s staying on the same relative level. Great Thanks to those who consider this.
I would think the point is to get more leafy greens in your diet and the only frozen green I can think of right now is in fact spinach, and I’d suspect that the spinach might be blanched first. Think about why you’d be choosing frozen over raw – leaves are better than veggies such as peas, green beans, etc.
I’d forget the minor convenience of frozen greens and just go with the raw deal. Kale, spinach, collards, dandelion greens, romaine, … the list of non-frozen options is more extensive.
Make sure to chew it.
Haha…Running raw!
i make mine with spinach because it is tasteless and it is cheep at my farmers market
Well it makes it easier to blend. I always snap my bananas into 3 pieces to ensure it wont jam the blender for any reason.
Now I find that hard
Thanks for sharing and muting the blender!
very cool
do you have any opinion about putting wheatgrass in the vitamix? i’ve gotten mixed messages from people, some saying you need to use a wheatgrass juicer and some saying it’s fine to use the vitamix. anyway, great vid and very well produced, and, um, you’re not exactly hard to look at either
. cheers
made my first one last night it was sooooo good!
Hamilton Beach dual wave Blender for only $ 60 is a great alternative to spending $ 400 on a vita mix !
thats way too expensive for most people to buy
$400? Trust me—it’s worth every penny. I bought mine EIGHT years ago, and it is still going strong. Before that I was going through those $60 blenders every year and a half.
I don’t sell these things btw, I just believe in them.
Very nice! Love what you said about the bananas. Oranges are pretty protected by their peel, too. I wish I could find organic kale at my local grocer, though. Stuff like that I won’t eat non organic.
yummy
lol I was expecting her to go YUCK!!!! THATS F’ING DISGUSTING AH YUCK!!! lol
